Houston Astros Star Outfielder to Have Ankle Checked Following WBC Incident

Houston Astros right fielder Kyle Tucker will have his ankle checked out following an incident in the World Baseball Classic game against Venezuela.

Houston Astros left fielder Kyle Tucker is returning to camp and will have his ankle checked out by the team's medical staff according to the Houston Chronicle. Tucker fouled a ball off his ankle during the World Baseball Classic Quarterfinal matchup against Venezuela last week.

Following the potential injury, Tucker was kept out of the matchups against Cuba and the final against Japan on Tuesday night.

According to the tweet, Astros manager Dusty Baker said Tucker was doing "'better' but wanted the Astros training staff to lay eyes on him first."

Tucker is now considered day-to-day and more information is expected on the left fielder and his injury as the weekend approaches.

Following his examination by the team's medical staff, a timeline and the next steps for Tucker will be revealed.

Stay tuned as we will update you as more information becomes available.
