BREAKING: Ronald Acuña Jr leaves the series finale against Miami in the 6th inning

Acuña stayed in the game for a half inning, but later exited the game and went for imaging

Continuing what may be the most damaging three game series in Braves history, outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr has left the game after taking a foul ball to the knee.

Here's the video:

Ronald ultimately stayed in the game, finishing the at-bat by striking out to end the inning. He went back out to right field in the bottom half of the 6th, but looked to be moving a bit gingerly as he came in to field a fly ball from Marlins 2B Jon Berti for the third out of the inning.

When Atlanta went back out on defense for the bottom of the 7th, Kevin Pillar had shifted from centerfield to right field to replace Acuña and Sam Hilliard entered the game to play center.

On the broadcast, Brandon Gaudin and Jeff Francoeur discussed the injury, with Francoeur speculating that he was removed to prevent the impact from becoming an issue. "You've got to get ice on it relatively quickly, or it swells up. It can be tough to move if you don't ice it quickly" said Francoeur, a twelve-year veteran of MLB who has dealt with the exact situation before.

It's been a costly series, from an injury standpoint, for the Braves. Starting pitcher Kyle Wright left Wednesday's game two with shoulder irritation that ultimately landed him on the injured list. Centerfielder Michael Harris, who just returned last week from an extended IL stat for lower back tightness, injured his knee and, while not expected to need an injured list stint, was unable to start tonight but can come off the bench "if needed".

We'll pass along any updates as we get them.
