WATCH: Spencer Strider dominates the Padres for six innings in San Diego

Sun rises, Strider strikes out nine batters, sun sets

For the fourth consecutive start, burgeoning Braves ace Spencer Strider punched out nine opposing hitters. The unlucky recipients were again the San Diego Padres, who also ate nine Strider Ks two starts ago.

In addition to the nine strikeouts, Strider also carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning before Juan Soto broke it up with a sharply hit infield single. This is made all the more impressive considering he was dealing with a strike zone that could be generously described as "amorphous", helping the pitchers in some cases and making them work harder in others.

Like last night, the Braves take a 2-0 lead into the late innings, with the bullpen now trying to lock down an eighth straight victory. A win would also give the club a series W over a strong Padres team.

Tomorrow's game is a late afternoon affair for Braves fans, with first pitch scheduled for 4:10 ET. The game broadcast, with Voice of the Braves Brandon Gaudin, is available inside Braves Country on Bally Sports South, and is available on MLB.TV outside of the broadcast area. The radio call, with Ben Ingram, is available locally on 680 AM/93.7 FM The Fan or outside the Atlanta market on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network or MLB.com.
