Over the last few seasons, the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers have built up quite the rivalry. It has stemmed from San Diego pushing their chips in and putting together a team that could compete against LA for the NL West division.

The two teams have met in the playoffs twice, with each side taking a series from the other. It’s a fun rivalry, and with the two teams being in Southern California, it makes it even more fun.

With the rivalry comes some fun at the expense of the players on the different sides. Last season, Padres then-shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. was suspended for using PEDs, and Dodger fans haven’t let him live it down.

Each time San Diego comes to Dodger Stadium, fans troll Tatis Jr. and the Padres. While the PED use is no joke, it’s all in the rivalry for LA fans to troll whenever possible. As the Padres made their way back to Los Angeles for a series this week, of course, the trolling came out from the Dodger fans.

This was supposed to be another season where the two teams went head-to-head against one another for the NL West crown. But San Diego has underwhelmed all season long, and they find themselves on the verge of likely missing the postseason.

LA, on the other hand, has surprised many people and has continued to be their dominant selves like in past seasons. It hasn’t always been pretty, but the Dodgers remain one of the better teams in baseball.

This rivalry isn’t going away anytime soon, especially as both teams continue to battle it out for superstar talent. Both franchises are determined to win, and they are well aware that in order to do so, they will need to go through each other down the line.
