Julio Urias News: MLB Insider Says Future 'In Doubt' for Former Dodgers Pitcher
Former Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias was set to hit free agency this offseason, and his abilities on the mound primed him for a big payday. However, he now faces felony domestic violence charges, all but eliminating those chances. According to Jeff Passan of ESPN, Urias may have to worry about more than just losing a big contract,
Julio Urias would be in this mix, too, but after he was arrested on domestic violence charges in September and placed on administrative leave, his future is in doubt.

Julio Urias faced misdemeanor domestic violence charges back in 2019, for which he served a 20-game suspension.
Since this is his second infraction, it severely lowers his chance for another opportunity in the league.
No player has faced a second suspension under the MLB's domestic violence policy. Those in MLB circles expect the suspension to be possibly the lengthiest the league has given out.
For reference, Trevor Bauer served a 194-game suspension back in 2022 after sexual assault charges. MLB could hand Urias an even longer suspension to make an example of him.
Even if he serves out the length of his suspension, there is no guarantee that a team will take a chance on him again.
