The Cleveland Guardians made a flurry of roster moves on Monday ahead of their series with the New York Yankees.

It all started when former left-handed starter Konnor Pilkington was dealt to the Arizona Diamondbacks, but more moves were soon to follow.

Meibrys Viloria - Designated For Assignment

The Guardians made a shocking roster decision before the season started and that was the decision to carry three catchers. It's not a move that a lot of teams make, but there was a method to the madness.

Carrying more catchers would allow them to pinch-hit players such as Will Brennan and Gabriel Arias more.

With that, Meibrs Viloria made the Opening Day roster. However, he's only appeared in 10 games and received four plate appearances where he's gone hitless. Cleveland decided to look elsewhere hoping to find a spark in their lineup.

David Fry Gets Major League Call Up

The Guardians had an open spot on the roster with Viloria's exit. That spot was filled with dynamic prospect, David Fry

If you need a utility man who can play just about everywhere, then Fry is your guy. The catcher-first baseman-third baseman-outfielder could be just what the offense needs off the bench.

Fry is currently slashing .289/.381/.479 with a .859 OPS at Triple-A and this offensive production is nothing new.

It's time to find out whether his bat can translate to the Big League level.
