The Cleveland Guardians have been battling for the AL Central crown all season and that race has only intensified since coming back from the All-Star Star Break.

The Minnesota Twins were 7-3 in their first 10 games back since the break and created a four-game lead. Cleveland on the other hand got swept by the Texas Rangers in their first series back which gave them their first four-game losing streak of the season.

However, the Guardians have looked like a completely different ball club since that series down in Texas. Specifically on with their bats.

They traveled to Pittsburg to take on the Pirates a week ago and opened up the floodgates of runs. The Guardians outscored the Pirates 28-8 in the three-game series. This included a multi-home run game for Josh Naylor, but the whole offense was clicking in the Steel City.

Next, the Philadelphia Phillies came to Progressive Field for some interleague play. The Phillies entered with a record of 52-44 while right in the thick of the highly competitive NL Wild Card Race.

Cleveland took it right to Philadelphia and won the first two games of the series behind a great showing from the bullpen in game one and a terrific start from Tanner Bibee in game two.

That brings us to Cleveland's series with the Kansas City Royals. These two teams have gotten to know each other pretty well as it was the third time they have met in the last five weeks.

KC stole the first game of the series behind a rare five-run offensive outburst from the offense. The Guardians bounced back in games two and three and won the series behind multi-home games from Bo Naylor and Jose Ramirez.

The Guardians have now won three straight series, back to .500 (51-51), and find themselves just 2.0 games back of the Twins for the lead in the AL Central. There are still holes on this roster that need to be addressed such as another innings-eating starting pitcher and a reliable outfield bat.

However, this division is still up for grabs and the Guardians could find themselves back on top in no time if they continue to stack series victories.
