There would be a number of questions had the Cleveland Guardians lost their series to the Toronto Blue Jays. Cleveland's offense had a few surprises including seven total home runs hit in a three-game stretch, but they also failed to convert in prime scoring opportunities as well.

The Guardians took game one on Friday behind another stellar start from Tanner Bibee. Bo Naylor, Ramon Laureano, and Andres Gimenez each hit homers to give Cleveland five runs and an early series lead.

Game two didn't get off to a great start the Guardians. Logan Allen gave up three runs in the first inning and two more in the fourth. Cleveland did their best to stay in the game thanks to homers from Jose Ramirez and Tyler Freeman

The Guardians had a massive opportunity in the sixth inning as they had the bases loaded with no one out. However, they only scored one run courtesy of a Yimi Garcia hit by pitch which was followed by three straight strikeouts. The frustrations following this inning were clear as the team wouldn't score the rest of the game.

That brings us to the chaotic game three that took 11 innings to declare a winner. Similarly, in game two, the Blue Jays jumped all over Cleveland's starting pitcher with an early home run. Another home run from Jose and RBI hits from Freeman and Myles Straw put Cleveland back on top but Toronto didn't go away without a fight.

The game ended up going into extra innings and the Guardians put it away thanks to a huge RBI double from Kole Calhoun and Laureano's second home run of the season.

Cleveland may have one the series, but there's still a lot this team can take away from their trip north of the border. The Guardians were 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position through the first two games and 2-for-9 in the series finale. The unexpected home run barrage is what kept them alive throughout the weekend.

Credit has to be given to this team for not giving up. There were many times they could have let the poor offense get to them, but Cleveland continued to fight which paid off in the end. The Guardians win their first series in almost a month and establish some momentum as they prepare to take on the Minnesota Twins.
