Tanner Bibee took to the mound at Progressive Field early on Sunday morning with a lot going on around him.

He was coming off his worse start since being called up to the Majors, had to deal with a unique game time of 11:35 am, and his old high school teammate Patrick Sandoval would be starting for the Los Angeles Angels.

But Bibee was able to overcome all of that noise and pitched arguably his best game at the Big League level and led the Cleveland Guardians to a series win over the Angels.

The right-handed rookie pitched into the eighth inning which is the longest he's ever pitched in his four career starts. Bibee gave up just one run on two hits and displayed his command of the strike zone by not walking a single batter. He also struck out seven Angel batters.

Bibee even took a perfect game into the fourth inning until Taylor Ward broke it up with a single in the 5th frame.

Even though Bibee gave up only one run, he wasn't in line for the decision with the game being tied when he left the game. The win went to James Karinchak who was technically still the pitched when Josh Naylor hit his three-run go-ahead home run in the bottom of the eighth

Naylor talked about how impressive Bibee has been after the game:

"He's a crazy talent on the mound. He's got electric stuff, pitches with a ton of confidence. I remember last game, I don't think he did as well as he could've and he was really upset, that shows me you care and you expect a lot of yourself, you have high expectations. He went our there today and he was just the same person with that complete confidence"

Bibee demonstrated exactly what it takes to be a Major League starter in this outing. He was fresh off of start against the Tigers where he gave up seven hits and four runs in 3.2 innings of work.

He didn't let that start carry over and pitched a beautiful game for Cleveland.
