The San Diego Padres are on a mini streak right now, but their star shortstop Xander Bogaerts is on an even longer streak. On Sunday, Bogaerts extended his on-base streak to 29 games, dating back to last season, and it's the longest of the season.

It's an incredible feat to reach, but his teammate, superstar third baseman Manny Machado wants us to stop talking about it. He told Padres reporter Marty Caswell that he's performing well and hopes to take some of that weight off his back.

"Yeah, don't keep talking about it. He's been great for this team, and he's been doing a lot of good things for us. We're ready to get hit and start carrying the big load off his back a little bit."

His streak is up to 29 games, which tied Bobby Brown in 1983 for the most consecutive games of reaching base to start his stint with the Friars.

Overall, Xander has had an excellent start to his San Diego career. He's slashing .308/.400/.514 with a .914 OPS. Xander also leads the team in batting average, home runs, hits, and on-base percentage. Bogaerts is a massive reason for most of the 15 wins they have under their belt.

The other star players must start playing like it if they really want to carry some of the load Xander has had on his back. Nonetheless, the Friars are looking good, and they'll look to carry that the rest of the way.
