One of the biggest questions facing the San Diego Padres this offseason (and there will be plenty of questions) will be what to do with slugger Juan Soto.

The young star has one more year on his contract and will be a welcome addition to any team desiring to contend for the 2024 playoffs. Because of his ability to take over games, the Padres could reap a hefty trade package for Soto, even with just one year left on his deal.

But, trading Soto would also signify a rebuild of sorts for a team that had bought in on a 2023 World Series run, only to miss the playoffs in one of the most disappointing seasons in recent memory.

Another Padre who is likely to wear different threads next season is free agent Blake Snell, who had a monster year for the Padres despite their subpar overall season. Snell was named the Pitcher of the Year by his MLB peers and is the likely NL Cy Young award winner.

Additionally, the Padres' offseason is in full swing with tons of roster moves, including one signing.
