Watch: Josh Smith Makes Great Catch in Foul Territory for Rangers

Josh Smith was playing third base on Wednesday night in place of Josh Jung, who had the night off for the Texas Rangers.
In this story:

ARLINGTON, Texas — Josh Smith started at third base for Josh Jung in Wednesday's game between the Texas Rangers and the Atlanta Braves

Jung got a well-deserved night off. Smith got a chance to show off his glove in the fourth inning.

With one out and Nathan Eovaldi on the mound, Atlanta's Eddie Rosario — who hit a two-run home run in the second inning — popped up a fall in foul territory down the third base line.

Smith tracked it from his position all the way to the railing, just to the left of the end of the Braves' dugout. There, he reached over the railing and made the catch for the second out.

Smith hasn't gotten a lot of playing time in the infield lately, as the Rangers have used him primarily as an outfielder as Ezequiel Duran assumed primary shortstop responsibilities in the wake of Corey Seager's injury.

Seager returned to the lineup on Wednesday as the designated hitter. Jung is expected to return to the lineup on Friday when the Rangers host the opener of a three-game set with the Colorado Rockies.
