Watch Texas Rangers' Mitch Garver Snap Homer Slump Against Red Sox
It has been a while since Mitch Garver went deep.
The Texas Rangers’ backup catcher belted a three-run home run in the second inning Tuesday to give his club an early 3-1 lead over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.
It’s Garver’s fourth homer and first since June 3. He doubled to the right-field corner in the fourth inning and scored on Robbie Grossman's double off the left-field wall to put Texas up 4-1. It was Garver's first double since June 14.
The homer to dead center left Garver’s bat at 105.4 mph and went 408 feet and Nathaniel Lowe and Ezequiel Duran.
The Rangers started a six-game road trip against the Red Sox Tuesday. They finish the first half with three games against the Nationals in Washington starting Friday.
Garver has missed time with a left knee sprain. He was moved to the 10-day injured list on April 10. He missed the rest of April and all of May and didn't return to the Rangers' active list until June 2. He homered against the Mariners June 3 in his first game back.
