Could the New York Yankees land a former member of the Toronto Blue Jays?

New York has been consistently adding to the organization this offseason. The Yankees have made some major acquisitions and also multiple depth moves.

The Yankees had a down year in 2023 and one of the biggest reasons why was a lack of depth. New York dealt with a plethora of injuries last season that devastated the club. The Yankees have done a good job adding this offseason but still could use even more depth, specifically in the starting rotation.

One player who could make some sense as a possible name to look out for is former Toronto Blue Jays All-Star Aaron Sanchez. He didn't pitch in the big leagues in 2023 and is looking for his next opportunity.

It's unclear where he will land or if he's fully healthy, but he reportedly will be throwing a bullpen session for possible suitors soon, according to FanSided's Robert Murray.

"Right-hander Aaron Sanchez is throwing a bullpen for teams on Feb. 9 at Summers Method in Clearwater, FL," Murray said. "Sanchez, who was an All-Star in 2016, most recently pitched in the majors in 2022 and has a 4.16 ERA in eight career seasons."

Sanchez spent five-plus seasons with the Blue Jays from 2014 to 2019 and earned his lone All-Star nod and had a 3.96 ERA. He hasn't been as successful since, but is just 31 years old and could be an interesting player to bring in on a minor league deal.

New York could use even more starting pitching depth with big-league upside in the minor leagues. Why not take a chance on Sanchez if he's healthy?
