The New York Yankees are going to have some tough decisions to make this upcoming offseason.

New York has had a down year, to say the least. The Yankees currently are in last place in the American League East with a 70-69 record. New York has looked better lately winning each of its last five games, but the Yankees will be busy this offseason.

The club likely will be linked to seemingly each big-name free agent available and likely will make a big move or two. Another decision that will have to be made is who will be leading the club. Yankees manager Aaron Boone is signed through the 2024 campaign but there have been rumblings that changes could happen, although a move is unlikely.

If Yankees star slugger Aaron Judge were to have his choice, he would like Boone to remain in the role, according to SNY MLB insider Andy Martino.

"On Thursday, I posed the question this way: If and when you are asked by (Hal Steinbrenner) if Boone is the right manager for this team going forward, what will you say? I added that I’d understand if Judge didn’t want to answer the question publicly," Martino said.

“No,” (Judge) said. “I want to answer that. I’ve been with Boonie all the way since 2018. He’s the guy.”

Boone was hired as the Yankees' manager ahead of the 2018 campaign and has yet to miss the postseason. The Yankees' skipper also became the first manager in Major League Baseball history to win 100 or more games in his first two seasons. At this point, it doesn't seem likely that the Yankees will let Boone go and Judge's endorsement certainly doesn't hurt.
