The Cavs Should Trade For This Clippers Center

The Los Angeles Clippers have reportedly made Ivica Zubac available for trade and he would be a great fit for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

One area that the Cleveland Cavaliers need to address this offseason is finding someone who can give quality minutes as the backup center.

The front court's depth was severely exposed against the New York Knicks in last year's playoffs. Outside of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, no one on Cleveland's roster could contain the Knicks' big men of Mitchell Robinson, Isaiah Hartenstein, and Obi Toppin

One center just hit the market that would be a perfect fit for the Cavs is Ivica Zubac. Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports reports that the Los Angeles Clippers have made Zubac available for trade.

Zubac just wrapped up his eighth season in the NBA, all taking place in Los Angeles. However, he started his career with the Lakers and was then traded to the Clippers in 2019.

The veteran big man stands at seven feet tall and his style of play represents this. Zubac averaged 10.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks a game last season as the team's starting center.

Again, the Cavs need someone who can provide quality minutes for them. Zubac averaged 28.6 minutes a game last season which was the most in his career.

The Cavs would have to give up one of their players in order to get Zubac with him still under contract. Who could be moved if this deal were to happen?

The Clippers have expressed interest in Cedi Osman in the past so he may be someone who they'd like in return.

Cleveland needs to bolster the frontcourt ahead of next season so they don't overwork Allen and Mobley. If they're truly serious about making this upgrade, there may not be a better center available than Zubac.
