The Cleveland Cavaliers officially punched their ticket to the 2023 NBA Playoffs as they defeated the Houston Rockets on Sunday evening. However, they wouldn't have been able to pull off the victory without a strong performance from Jarrett Allen in the second half.

The Cavs came out of halftime with a 16-point lead but allowed the Rockets to climb back into the game after they outscored Cleveland 37-25 in the third quarter which put them within single digits.

Jarrett Allen then took over the game in the fourth quarter, allowing the Cavs to fend off the Rockets' push. JA finished with eight points, two blocked shots, six rebounds, and a steal in the fourth quarter alone.

He finished the night with 24 points and a +/- of 19. The story of the night will be the Cavaliers heading back to the playoffs, but they wouldn't have been possible without Allen.

Performances such as this one are the reason the Cavs are heading back to the playoffs. This season he's averaged 14.4 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per night. Allen's defense has also been an integral part of Cleveland's identity.

The Cavs will need more performances such as this one if they hope to make a deep Playoff run.
