REPORT: Cavaliers Have Interest In Remaining Free Agents
The Cleveland Cavaliers have already had quite the offseason. They brought back Caris LeVert while also adding Georges Niang, Max Strus, Damian Jones, and Ty Jerome.
But why stop there?
There are still a number of talented free agents on the market and the Cavaliers reportedly have an interest in bringing one of them in.
Christian Wood
One of the biggest names on the market who has yet to find a home this offseason and Christian Wood. The power forward was with the Dallas Mavericks last season and averaged 16.6 points per game.
Wood is a pure scorer. He shot 50 percent from the field and 39 percent from behind the arc last season. However, there is some to be desired on the defensive end of the floor. He would be a great piece to come off the bench and play beside Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen.
P.J. Washington
Speaking of power forwards who can score, P.J. Washington is another example of a player of this skill set who is still available to sign. He shot 35 percent from there on almost six attempts a night last season with the Charlotte Hornets.
Bringing in Washington would fit with Cleveland's offseason theme of bringing in as much shooting as they can.
The one roadblock for any team looking to sign Washington is that he's currently a restricted free agent so the Hornets could match any offer he's given.
Kelly Oubre
A healthy Kelly Oubre can easily put up 20-plus points per game, however, injuries cost him almost half of last season. Oubre has played the last two seasons with the Hornets averaging 17.0 a night. He's a wing that can create his own shot which is exactly what the Cavs need more of.
If Oubre has interest in signing with Cleveland on a one-year deal it would be a great way to create more depth at the wing.
