Celtics Stars Questionable for Thursday's Game vs. Pistons

It's the Celtics' turn to try to extend the Pistons' record-losing streak of 27 consecutive contests.

Fresh off a 3-1 West Coast trip that they capped with a 126-115 win in a Christmas clash with the Los Angeles Lakers, the Boston Celtics return home to host the Detroit Pistons on Thursday.

While Boston, 23-6, boasts the NBA's best record, its 2-28 visitors are at the bottom of the league's standings and have lost 27 consecutive contests, the most in a season.

That also puts pressure on the Pistons' opponents not to be the team they finally get a win against.

But what the Celtics would feel more is the effects of not having their stars in the lineup for Thursday's matchup.

The hosts list Jayson Tatum (left ankle sprain management) and Jaylen Brown (low back contusion) as questionable on their injury report.

Oshae Brissett (non-Covid illness) is also questionable to play. Lamar Stevens, who's also dealing with a non-Covid illness, and Svi Mykhailiuk, who has a left heel contusion, are probable.

Thursday's tilt will tip off at 7:30 p.m. EST. Inside The Celtics will have content related to the game before, during, and afterward. Follow @BobbyKrivitsky on Twitter for updates and analysis from pregame to post.
