Jrue Holiday Open to 2024 Olympics

Jrue Holiday has not heard much about Team USA's desire for another Olympic run with the guard, but he would be interested.

Prior to the Celtics' first preseason game against the Philadelphia 76ers last Sunday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski gave a report on NBA Countdown about Team USA "aggressively pursuing" Boston's newest guard.

At Celtics practice on Monday, Holiday was asked what he thought about participating in the Paris Olympics and the report Team USA's heavily recruiting him.

"Are they?" Holiday instantly asked NBC Sports Boston's Chris Forsberg. "That's cool; I haven't heard anything yet. I haven't heard anything."

Holiday was then asked if he would like to join the team again next summer in Paris.

"Would I like to hear from them? I mean, why not?" He said. "I'd like to see what we can do out there."

Holiday was a dominant part of the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo, led by Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Bam Adebayo, and new running mate Jayson Tatum. He was widely considered one of the leaders and best players on the roster.

The guard had a brief layover after his 2021 championship with the Milwaukee Bucks, but Holiday still ignited Team USA to their fourth consecutive gold medal. In the six games, he started in five of them and averaged 11.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists while shooting 48.3 percent from the field and 35 percent from three.

The summer of 2024, potentially following a Celtics' Finals run or at least a deep postseason appearance, could be an interesting variable for Holiday. Tatum is expected to suit up for Team USA again and Jaylen Brown may also join a squad some of the NBA's biggest stars have voiced their commitment to playing for.
