In Tuesday's 131-125 overtime loss to the Bucks, Derrick White led the Celtics with 27 points, dished out 12 assists, the most in the matchup, and tied Jrue Holiday for a game-high with three steals.

He also went to the podium to speak with the media after the game, discussing the value of a matchup where despite Boston missing Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, and Al Horford, and Robert Williams only playing 12:57, the visitors forced overtime and held a 123-118 lead with 2:13 left in the fifth frame before Milwaukee staged a 13-2 run.

It was a reflection of the Celtics being the deepest team in the NBA, exemplified by White's performance.

But as his teammates return to Boston, where they'll host the Pistons on Wednesday, according to Jared Greenberg of NBA on TNT and NBATV, White, who got hit in the ear in the first half, is staying behind to see an ear specialist. Greenberg also reported White is having trouble hearing out of his left ear.

White's pain was evident after the play he got hit, walking over to assistant coach Ben Sullivan, tapping his left ear, and shaking his head, the first sign he was having trouble hearing out of it.
