Boston Celtics co-owner Steve Pagliuca hopped on WEEI's Jones & Mego podcast and discussed several Celtics-related topics, including Jaylen Brown's historic contract extension.

"He really deserves that contract," Pagliuca said. "We're very excited to have Jaylen, Jayson, and now Porzingis."

Brown and the Celtics came to an agreement on a five-year, $304 million supermax contract extension — the richest contract in NBA history — back in late July.

The 6-foot-6 wing has played seven seasons in the NBA, all as a member of the storied Celtics franchise. He is fresh off the best season of his pro career, as he averaged 26.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game across 67 appearances during the 2022-23 regular season (all starts).

These numbers were good enough for Brown to earn the second All-Star nod of his NBA career as well as a spot on the 2022-23 All-NBA Second Team.
