In a recent article, Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley named three sleeper free agents for the New York Knicks, and one was former LA Clippers guard Patrick Beverley.

After being traded from the Los Angeles Lakers and bought out by the Orlando Magic, Beverley signed with his hometown Chicago Bulls for the remainder of the season. Beverley helped lead Chicago to the play-in tournament, but with that being as far as they got, there are many who believe the Bulls need to rebuild.

If the Bulls are not looking to contend next season, it would make sense for Beverley to sign elsewhere, as the veteran guard would not fit on a rebuilding team. As Buckley notes in his article, the Knicks could be a good fit for both sides.

"If Beverley just rediscovers his touch from range—33.9 percent the past two seasons, 39.3 percent the six previous campaigns—he could be a tone-setting defender who won't dominate the basketball and will convert a lot of the clean looks he gets," Buckley wrote.

While Beverley has seen his shooting numbers dip over the last two seasons, he is still a strong defender with an extensive track record of being a capable three-point shooter. This is the type of player that would fit well alongside New York's ball-dominant stars, which is why Beverley could be a reasonable option for the Knicks in free agency.
