Jalen Green: I Want to Learn From Kyrie Irving
Every NBA player has someone they want to learn from, regardless of who they are. Paul George wanted to learn from Kobe Bryant, and so did many others. In the newest Podcast P, Houston Rockets star Jalen Green revealed that he wanted Kyrie Irving to be his mentor.
"I want to learn from Kyrie if I can," Green said. "He's tapped in with me. I've got his number, we can text each other. He talks to me after the games, too. That would be someone I want to learn from, and see what his bag is. Get some of his bag is."
What specifically does Green want to learn from Kyrie?
"His footwork, how he reads."
The circle of knowledge in the NBA is a path that never stops. Michael Jordan taught what he knew to Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant taught what he knew to players like Kyrie Irving and Paul George, and now Kyrie Irving is in a position to be a teacher himself. He would be a very interesting teacher for Green, and potentially turn him into a very dangerous offensive player. At the same though, the things Green needs to become better at are shot selection, defense, and passing.
With rumors of James Harden potentially joining the Houston Rockets, the team will have a very interesting off-season to watch, especially for Jalen Green.
