Expected to go first-overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, Victor Wembanyama seemed excited when the Houston Rockets were awarded the 4th pick during the televised Draft Lottery. A camera was on Wembanyama as the picks were being announced, and he let out a fist pump when Houston got the 4th pick:

Recently joining LA Clippers star Paul George on Podcast P, which is presented by Wave Sports and Entertainment, Rockets guard Jalen Green was asked about this moment.

"I mean, I saw it but I ain't think nothing of it," Green said. "Bro, wherever he gets drafted, whether it was us - or it's gonna be probably gonna be the Spurs, but like where you get drafted [you] still gotta come in and work no matter what. I didn't think we was gonna get the fourth pick, though."

Green downplayed the viral moment, saying he didn't think anything of it. While most teams who end up with an opportunity to land the first-overall pick aren't usually in great spots as an organization, there is certainly a national perception of Houston that is more negative than many others in the lottery.

A lot of this negativity stems from stories about Houston's young players and their lack of buy-in; however, much of that came under head coach Stephen Silas, who has now been replaced by former Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka.
