Jayson Tatum Shares Support for Paul George After Terrifying Injury
LA Clippers star Paul George suffered a terrifying injury in Tuesday night's loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Landing awkwardly on his right knee, George stayed down on the ground for several minutes before being helped back to the locker room. George did not re-emerge from the locker room until well after the game, when he was seen being carted out of the arena with his right leg extended.
The NBA world gathered together with their shared concern over George's injury, and one player who shared support was Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum:
There is a lot of mutual respect between George and Tatum, as the two players have spoken highly of each other on numerous occasions over the last several years. George recently compared Tatum‘s game to his own on a recent episode of his podcast, saying Tatum has taken some things from his game to even new heights.
The Clippers announced on Wednesday morning that George suffered a knee sprain that will sideline him for at least 2 to 3 weeks. After that 2 to 3 week period, George will be reevaluated, which will determine whether or not he is able to return at some point this season. The current expectation is that George will be out for the remainder of the regular season, and could be out the remainder of the postseason if the Clippers do not make a deep enough run.
This is a gut punch for a Clippers team that had just been starting to find some rhythm, but it certainly could have been worse after George collapsed to the floor.
