Former LA Clippers and Lakers guard Patrick Beverley spoke on the LeBron James retirement rumors during the latest episode of his podcast, saying he does not expect James to retire.

"No, I don't think he's gonna retire," Beverley said. "He's chasing some sh-t too. I don't even think it's about [playing with Bronny James], I just think that he loves ball... He's a real hooper."

Beverley joked that James is going to be right back on the court crowning himself next season. The veteran guard added that James loves the preparation and everything that goes into an NBA season too much to leave it behind. While James will eventually retire, Beverley does not think it will be this summer.

Traded from the Lakers at this year's trade deadline, Beverley spent some time as teammates with James this season. While that iteration of the Lakers did not work out, Beverley still has a positive relationship with James that goes back further than their time as teammates.

James and the Lakers have a lot to figure out this summer, which will certainly be a story to follow. While James is admittedly thinking over the future of his playing career, many feel as if he will be back next season for year 21. The Lakers certainly need him as they look to win another championship.
