Paul George Breaks Silence After Suffering Devastating Injury
Paul George went down in the fourth quarter of the LA Clippers vs Oklahoma City Thunder with what looked to be a devastating injury in his knee. He didn't speak to the media after the game, but finally tweeted a response the next day.
"ππΎ Appreciate yβall ππΎ"
George's tweet came a few hours before the Clippers revealed an official diagnosis stating that he suffered a knee sprain and would be re-evaluated in 2-3 weeks. While Paul George's injury is nowhere near as bad as fans and players were expecting, it's still very devastating timing for the LA Clippers. The team has only 9 games left in the regular season, with a legitimate chance of still falling into the play-in tournament. A 2-3 week re-evaluation period doesn't include ramp-up time, and George would only likely return if the Clippers made a solid playoff run; based on the diagnosis, the Clippers should expect to compete in the first round without Paul George.
On the positive side, sources did tell AllClippers that based on this current diagnosis, Paul George should not need surgery. The season definitely isn't over for the Clippers just yet, but their margin for error has gotten even smaller when it was already small. It's going to be very tough for this team to both not be in the play-in tournament, and make it out of the first round, but that's what they need to get Paul George back.
