Paul George Hilariously Explains How Steph Curry Destroyed Clippers
Before the LA Clippers faced the Golden State Warriors, Paul George had a plan to shut down superstar point guard Steph Curry. That plan quickly went out the window, as Curry finished with 50-points; however, the Clippers were able to survive the explosion and grab the win.
After detailing his plan to run Curry off the three-point line and force him in to layups, George said on a recent episode of his podcast, "I didn’t do none of that. I'm going to force him into layups. He's going to have to beat me every time. No threes. All that went out the window... Bro, I couldn't stop none of it. I couldn't stop none of it."
On the challenge of defending Golden State as a team, George gave a very detailed answer:
You can’t fall into that trap, because that’s their game style, that’s how they play. Their offense, the way they can shoot, they’re a fast paced team and they have the green light to shoot and take tough shots. For us, we couldn’t fall into that trap. We’re not a three-point shooting team the way they are. We create off of penetration, kick outs, pick and rolls, stuff like that. Our game is more mid-range, get to the basket, we got big wings, finish at the rim. So I thought that was our way of countering, we’re just going to be physical, we’re going to play at the rim. We gonna get offensive rebounds, put backs, that was our way of countering them going crazy with their threes.
Curry exploded for 50, but the Clippers defeated Golden State. For Paul George, he'll take the win, but he is still left without an answer for Steph Curry's greatness.
