When the Memphis Grizzlies lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, many people went back to Ja Morant's 'Fine in the West' comment from earlier in the year. During an interview with ESPN, Morant infamously said he and the Grizzlies were 'fine' in the Western Conference, which aged very poorly when Memphis went out in round one.

During the latest episode of Podcast P, which is presented by Wave Sports and Entertainment, LA Clippers star Paul George was joined by Grizzlies star Jaren Jackson Jr. to discuss several different topics. One of these topics was Morant's viral comment, and George said he had no issue with it.

"I didn’t have a problem with Ja saying that," George said. "That is a rising star, you’re supposed to have that confidence. That’s how we feel. We feel we’re good enough. Media just attacked it because y’all are young and haven’t won yet."

Jackson Jr. agreed, saying, "What do you want us to say, we’re not good? We were good. Ain’t nobody worried about anything. He said that and it gave us a boost. We’re here to play and we’re here to back it up."

While the comment did not age well, Morant didn't shy away from it. The Grizzlies star told the media after Memphis was eliminated that he said it and he'll deal with the backlash.
