Since joining the LA Clippers, Russell Westbrook has quickly emerged as a team leader. His voice in the locker room has been prominent despite him being a new arrival, and other players on the team have already spoken up about what that has meant.

Paul George was asked about Westbrook's leadership while the Clippers were struggling, and said, "Extremely important. He fits what a leader is as a point guard. Constantly just keeping guys uplifted, just staying positive. You need guys like that, especially from the point guard position."

When asked if it's difficult becoming a vocal leader on a brand new team, Westbrook gave an incredible answer, saying it's an ability he was blessed with.

"Not really," Westbrook said with a smile. "I feel like God has blessed me with that gift to be able to not just lead, but take criticism, to take whatever it is that's coming from my teammates. Also make sure I'm consistently on [Paul George and Kawhi Leonard], whoever it may be throughout the game, and letting them know what I see from my point of view. Because a lot of times guys are locked into the game and focused on what they need to focus on, and my job as a point guard is to make sure that I see what's going on throughout the game and how I can help the other guys out."

This answer from Westbrook directly aligns with what his teammates have already said about him, and it is clear that he is well-liked in the Clippers locker room.
