With his 3rd assist on Saturday night, LA Clippers guard Russell Westbrook moved into 9th place on the NBA's all-time assists list, passing Hall-of-Fame point guard Isiah Thomas. Westbrook dished the assist to Paul George, who finished with a dunk.

Westbrook is one of the best passers in NBA history, and has led the league in assists three separate times. Also a two-time scoring champ, Westbrook has done it all offensively throughout the course of his career, and is still racking up assists.

It has been an up and down start to Westbrook's time with the Clippers, but the team entered Saturday afternoon's contest vs. the Knicks on a two-game winning streak. The standings are shifting daily in the Western Conference, making every game vitally important. This is especially true for the Clippers, as they are trying to avoid the play-in tournament.

The Clippers started 0-5 with Russell Westbrook, but looked much better in their two games leading up Saturday's contest. Westbrook has started each game he has played in a Clippers uniform, and has done a good job setting up teammates on a nightly basis. The Clippers are still working through the best ways to utilize Westbrook, but they have shown a lot of trust in the future Hall-of-Fame point guard.

Now 9th in all-time assists, Westbrook has a chance to climb even further if he can maintain this level of production for even just a couple more seasons.
