Russell Westbrook Passes Allen Iverson on Historical NBA List
Russell Westbrook had his best game of the season against the Memphis Grizzlies last night and set history in multiple ways.
Westbrook put up a stat line of 36 points, 10 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks, on 13/18 FGs, and 5/5 3Ps. He became the first player in NBA history to have a 30-point and 10-assist game with 5 different franchises. He was also the only player in Clippers history to have 35 points, 10 assists, and 2 blocks in a game.
The history didn't stop there for Russell Westbrook though. During the game, Westbrook passed Allen Iverson for the 27th spot on the NBA's all-time scoring list. Westbrook officially has 24,370 points in his career and is 135 points away from Ray Allen to take over the 26th spot.
What's more important for Westbrook though, is the fact that he helped the LA Clippers come out with a win. The Clippers desperately needed a win during a brutal stretch where they faced the Memphis Grizzlies twice and the New Orleans Pelicans in a four-day stretch. They somehow figured out a way to do it without Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, too.
Wednesday night was truly a night that Russell Westbrook fans could only dream of. They were able to see their favorite player not only have a vintage game but witness him make history in multiple ways.
