It was initially reported by Bleacher Report's Chris Haynes that the Phoenix Suns planned to waive Chris Paul, but it has now been officially clarified by their new head coach Frank Vogel that Paul has not been waived.

Speaking with Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, Vogel said the following:

"Obviously there was a misunderstanding yesterday. We did not waive Chris, as was reported. But there's ongoing conversations about all of the options to improve the roster. I personally communicated with Chris and feel strongly about the opportunity to work with him. He's someone I've just had an immense respect for over the years, not only just his game, his toughness, IQ, he's one of the great winners our game has ever seen. He's done so much for this team the last few years, so I'm really hopeful to have an opportunity to work with him this next year, and I think he can really help us get over the top."

Paul has been linked to the LA Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, and other possible suitors since the news dropped about his uncertain future in Phoenix; however, the possibility of him remaining with the Suns seems to remain in play. With Vogel's recent comments, it was confirmed that Paul has not yet been waived, and all sides are working together on the best path forward.
