Anthony Edwards' Status vs. Memphis Grizzlies Revealed
The Memphis Grizzlies are facing the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night, and star guard Anthony Edwards is questionable with left ankle soreness. Edwards had an injury scare on Tuesday night vs. the San Antonio Spurs, but was able to return to the game.
The Timberwolves enter this game tied with the Oklahoma City Thunder for first in the Western Conference. The top of the West has been moving around quite a bit, with the Timberwolves, Thunder, Denver Nuggets, and LA Clippers, all hovering around that top spot.
For Memphis, they remain well out of the playoff picture, as their brief postseason hopes following Ja Morant's return from suspension lasted just nine games. Morant of course suffered a season ending shoulder injury just nine games after returning, which put an end to the already unlikely possibility that Memphis was going to make a postseason run.
Now focused on refining their rotation for next season, the Grizzlies are seeing what they have internally, and who can be the biggest help next year with a healthy Morant in the lineup.
The Grizzlies and Timberwolves saw each other in the playoffs not too long ago, with Memphis defeating Minnesota in the opening round of the 2022 postseason. Both teams have changed a lot since then, but when healthy are each led by their respective stars in Ja Morant and Anthony Edwards.
