BREAKING: Grizzlies Sign Recent Lakers Player

The Memphis Grizzlies have made two new signings

It was announced by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that the Memphis Grizzlies plan to sign Shaq Harrison and Jaylen Nowell to hardship 10-day contracts. In his announcement, Wojnarowski wrote, “ESPN Sources: The Memphis Grizzlies plan to sign guards Shaq Harrison and Jaylen Nowell with two newly awarded hardship 10-day contracts. The NBA approved the hardship roster spots after Memphis had five injured players ruled out over the next two-plus weeks.”

Harrison last appeared in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers, appearing in eight postseason games for them last season; however, he did sign an Exhibit 10 contract with Memphis in August. Nowell last appeared in the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves, playing 65 games for them last season.

The Grizzlies are in serious need of roster help, as several of their top rotation players are currently injured. This is of course in addition to the suspension of Ja Morant, who the team knew they would be without for the first 25 games of the season.

Off to an abysmal 3-11 start, the Grizzlies are just looking to stay afloat in the absence of Morant and so many others. While these new signings are certainly not going to save their season, the Grizzlies needed to bolster their depth a bit after even some of their bottom of the rotation players have gone down with injuries.

If Harrison or Nowell perform well over the next 10 days, perhaps one or both of them could stick around with Memphis for longer than that initial deal.
