Falling to the Phoenix Suns on Friday, the Memphis Grizzlies dropped to 3-12 on the season. It has been a dreadful start to the year for Memphis, who has dealt with several injures on top of Ja Morant's suspension.

While Memphis has had poor injury luck to start the year, they are also dropping games they could win. Speaking after Friday's loss, veteran guard Derrick Rose got honest about why Memphis is struggling the way they are.

"Just communicating," Rose said. "Been saying that the whole time. I don't know when it's gonna actually resonate, but if we're not gonna talk on the defensive end, there's no way in hell we're gonna win these games. That's just honestly speaking. Communication is huge in this league, especially on this level. Sometimes it's intimidating if you're hearing the opposite team call out the exact play that you're running. It lets you know everybody has the same common goal while they're out there. That everybody is on the same page. Right now we lack that, but it's something that we can work on and an area we can actually improve in."

Rose performed well in this game, finishing with 17 points on 8/9 from the field, but it wasn't enough to beat a Suns team missing Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal. The Grizzlies have a lot to figure out, and communication is one of those things.
