With all that has transpired with Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies, some believe the team would benefit from a veteran presence in the locker room. When asked about this after Thursday night's win over the Golden State Warriors, Dillon Brooks blasted the idea of Memphis signing guys like Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard, saying both players are looking to extend their careers rather than help young guys.

"It doesn’t matter," Brooks said. "Who do you want to sign? You wanna sign Carmelo Anthony? You wanna sign Dwight Howard? Who do you want to sign? Those guys are trying to get back into the league. They’re not trying to hone in on a guy and be a vet. A real vet is like Udonis Haslem. A guy who is just strictly for the team."

Uninterested in Anthony or Howard, Brooks believes both players are more interested in extending their own careers than helping mentor younger players. Brooks had a lot to say in his postgame interview on Thursday night, and many people were upset with what they felt was disrespect for two future Hall-of-Fame players.

It's unclear if Carmelo Anthony or Dwight Howard are even interested in NBA roles of any kind at this point, but Brooks spoke with a level of certainty that neither guy would provide what so many people believe this Grizzlies team needs.
