Dillon Brooks Wants LeBron James and Lakers in NBA Playoffs

Dillon Brooks wants to face LeBron James.

One of the craziest things an NBA player can say is that they want to face LeBron James in the NBA Playoffs. If there's one player who would say it though, it's Dillon Brooks.

“I wouldn’t mind playing LeBron in a 7-game series," Dillon Brooks said after the Grizzlies' practice. “The legacy is there. First time back in the playoffs, knock him out right away. They’ll test us good. They got good pieces, good players. That’ll be a good first-round matchup for us.”

In all honesty, it feels like Dillon Brooks is saying this from a good place. He wants the Memphis Grizzlies to be tested, he wants the team to beat the best so that they can become the best. In some ways, it's a very noble statement to make.

In other ways, it's a very blasphemous thing for Dillon Brooks to say. No one should ever want to face LeBron James in the NBA Playoffs, especially a very motivated LeBron James. Make no mistake, LeBron James will be very motivated after missing the playoffs last year, especially against the Memphis Grizzlies - a team that consistently motivates him.

It's still too early to say that the Memphis Grizzlies will face the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. The Lakers still have to face off against the very shorthanded Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in tournament tonight, and the winner of that gets the hungry Grizzlies.
