Former NBA Player Shares Harsh Reality for Lakers After Loss to Kings
The Sacramento Kings took care of business against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night, making it five-straight wins over their Pacific Division rivals.
This was a big game for the Lakers, as the Kings are one of the teams they are trying to chase down in the Western Conference standings, but it seems to become more and more likely each day that the Lakers will face the Golden State Warriors in that 9th vs. 10th play-in tournament game.
Following this Lakers vs. Kings game, former Memphis Grizzlies forward Chandler Parsons shared a harsh reality for Los Angeles, saying on FanDuel's Run It Back show, "I think [the Kings] are a better basketball team...The Kings are in good shape, obviously they own the Lakers this year."
There is a chance that the Lakers could see the Kings in the play-in tournament with their season on the line. If the Lakers finish 9th or 10th in the Western Conference standings, they will have to win two games to make the playoffs. The first will likely come against the Warriors, but the second could come against Sacramento if they were to lose their first play-in game.
The play-in tournament is always difficult to escape, and that will certainly be the case this season with all of the talent that projects to finish 7th through 10th in the Western Conference.
