There has been a lot of talk recently about who will replace LeBron James and Steph Curry as the next face of the NBA once those two retire. During a recent episode of Gil's Arena, former NBA star and Memphis Grizzlies guard Gilbert Arenas named Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum as next up on that list.

"Jayson Tatum is in that mega-star lane," Arenas said. "If he wins a championship, he will be considered the face [of the NBA]. There's only really two faces at one time. As long as LeBron and Curry are in there, Jayson Tatum is the next up. When LeBron retires, it will be Steph and Tatum."

Playing for the Celtics will certainly help Tatum become the NBA's next mega-star, as they are one of the most storied and popular franchises in the league. That said, neither Curry nor James seem ready to give up their spot atop the league just yet, even though they're both getting closer to the end of their careers.

James has spoken openly about understanding that he doesn't have too many years left, and while Curry has addressed that topic as well, he has yet to set a number on just how much longer he plans to play. Until these two stars walk away, they will remain the faces of the league.
