Grizzlies Give Big Ja Morant Update During Suspension
The Memphis Grizzlies desperately need Ja Morant back in their lineup, and it looks like he may be hopefully coming soon.
Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins gave a thorough update on how Morant has been progressing during his suspension, and everything sounds very positive. In fact, Morant has been playing 5-on-5 and Jenkins is expecting him to be "full go" when he arrives.
"I've got to say, he's been unbelievable with the process," Taylor Jenkins said. "I mean, it's been a lengthy process, but in every stage and every phase of the return to play and getting the opportunities with his teammates to practice, he's getting more of those. In the last couple of sessions, he's been playing 5-on-5. We've got a schedule in the next couple of weeks to get him those opportunities, whether it's in our practice settings, it's outside of that, play groups like we talked about. He's been awesome, I expect him to be full go come game 26."
As it stands, the Memphis Grizzlies are five games out of a play-in spot. While it's not an impossible task, it's going to be a very difficult one with very little room for error. Once Ja Morant returns, the Grizzlies will need to go on a major run, especially when you look at how competitive the Western Conference is.
