Grizzlies Legend Gets Honest About Memphis Fans

Mike Conley will be forever grateful to Grizzlies fans.

Mike Conley will be forever remembered as one of the most-liked Memphis Grizzlies players of all time. His relationship with the fans will never be forgotten, no matter what team he's on.

After the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Memphis Grizzlies last night, Mike Conley addressed Grizzlies fans in a postgame interview.

"It's always like the first time when I come back here," Conley said. "It's an amazing place to play and these fans, they basically raised me, the city raised me. Truthfully, thankful to them. For everything, grateful. Be happy to be able to play in front of them still."

While Conley was a member of the Grizzlies he was a three-time winner of the NBA Sportsmanship Award. He was also a one-time winner of the NBA's Teammate of the Year award. During Conley's time on the Grizzlies, there were very few teammates better than he was in the NBA. When you look at his body of work, there's a reason why Mike Conley has a special connection with the fans in a way that no one else does.

Looking back at the "Grit and Grind" Grizzlies, every single one of those players was special to the fans and the city. Mike Conley, Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol, and Tony Allen were all very irreplaceable names in Memphis basketball culture. They all represented what it meant to be a part of the city.
