Ja Morant Breaks Silence on Suspension After Posting Gun Video
Ja Morant has released an official statement after getting suspended for a minimum of two games for posting a video of himself holding a gun on Instagram live. The statement was released via Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
"I take full responsibility for my actions last night. I'm sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis, and the entire Grizzlies organization for letting you down. I'm going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being."
As it stands, Ja Morant has also deactivated all of his social media as well. The statement will likely be the only thing fans hear from him over the course of the next two games. It's unknown if the suspension will last longer than two games, but the Grizzlies also know they'll drop to the third seed if Morant is out any longer. The team has a 4-5 record without Ja Morant this season. Not only are they missing Morant, but they're also now missing Brandon Clarke due to an Achilles tear, and Steven Adams due to an injury.
Hopefully, this statement is the first step towards positive progress for Ja Morant. No one wants to see a legitimate NBA superstar ruin their career without actually achieving their potential.
