Many feel the NBA Dunk Contest has lost a lot of what made it great over the years. While a big part of this is because almost every dunk has been done at this point, another big part is the lack of star participation.

Being a star player of course does not make someone a great dunker, but there are certainly some NBA stars that would be incredible in a Dunk Contest setting. One of these stars is Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant, who hinted at possibly making an appearance - if he were to get paid:

Responding to a post that asked someone to pay Morant $1M so he can do the contest, the Grizzlies star responded with a simple emoji that seemed to suggest he would consider it at that price.

One of the best dunkers in the NBA, Morant also seems to have the hang-time and power needed to translate his in-game dunking ability to a Dunk Contest setting. Perhaps if Morant is on the All-Star team next season he will be more open to competing in the Dunk Contest as well.

Of course injured right now, Morant could not have participated in any All-Star Weekend events this season, but he will certainly be atop the list of players fans want to see in San Francisco next year.
