Jayson Tatum Reacts to Marcus Smart's Incredible Game
Marcus Smart is no longer with the Boston Celtics, but there is still a lot of love between him and his former teammates. While Smart was amid an incredible performance against the Dallas Mavericks in the Memphis Grizzlies' last game, his former teammate Jayson Tatum sent out this post:
Smart recently opened up about his connection with his former teammates in an interview with Marc Spears of Andscape, saying, "I built a relationship with Jaylen [Brown] and Jayson [Tatum] and the rest of those guys on that team. We’ve been through a lot. Those guys pulled up to my mom’s funeral when my mom passed away. They took time out of their day to come show love and support. That means a lot. And our relationship was much deeper than basketball. Those guys can call on me whenever and I’m going to be there and vice versa."
That connection is one that will last no matter what team Smart is on. Still tuning into his former teammate's games, Tatum was watching Smart go off against Luka Doncic and the Mavericks.
Smart unfortunately suffered a finger injury in that game, and is expected to be reevaluated in six weeks, per the team. It has been one of those years for the Grizzlies, so hopefully Smart can make a quick recovery and be back around that six weeks mark.
