The Memphis Grizzlies are set to open the first round of the playoffs on Sunday afternoon against the Los Angeles Lakers. The NBA’s best home team this season, Memphis will look to protect their home court in the postseason the same way they did the entire regular season.

While the Lakers project to be an incredibly tough 7th seed, the Grizzlies were dominant all season, and feel confident heading into this series. The good news for both sides, is that all of the stars should be available. For the Grizzlies, their injury report only includes Steven Adams, Brandon Clarke, and Jake LaRavia. All three players have been ruled out for Memphis, but everybody else is expected to be available.

For the Lakers, they have listed LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Dennis Schroder as probable. All three players are expected to play, but the Lakers do have them listed on the injury report, similar to the way they did for most of the regular season as well.

With players like James and Davis, the Lakers are certainly not an ordinary 7th seed, especially with their trade deadline pieces that helped lead them to a dominant second half of the season. Most first round matchups between the 2nd seed and the 7th seed lack intrigue, but this particular series projects to be much more competitive than the seeding would suggest. That said, these Grizzlies were nearly unbeatable at home this season, and will look to put the Lakers in an early 0-1 hole on Sunday afternoon.
