The Memphis Grizzlies are set to face the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night, and while they will not have to deal with star guard Kyrie Irving, the Grizzlies will be facing an early MVP candidate in Luka Doncic. Dallas has ruled Irving out for this game with a right heel contusion, but Doncic is not listed on the injury report, meaning he is available to play.

Dallas has been one of the best teams in the Western Conference this season, currently sitting in third place, just one game back of the second seed Oklahoma City Thunder. The pairing of Irving and Doncic has looked much better this season than it did after Irving joined Dallas last season. This is to be expected, as repetition is everything for star duos learning to play alongside one another, and the turnaround for Dallas has been relatively quick.

While it is still very early in the season, Dallas is pleased with where they sit right now, whereas the Grizzlies have a lot of work to do. Just 6-15 on the season, Memphis sits five games back of a play-in spot, as they hope to keep that within reach before Ja Morant returns from suspension.

This will be a tough game for the Grizzlies, but also a great test against one of the top teams in the Western Conference.
