Memphis Grizzlies All-Star Reacts to Shocking Ejection

Jaren Jackson Jr. was ejected against the Utah Jazz.

Last night, the Memphis Grizzlies lost a heartbreaker of a game against the Utah Jazz. Tempers flared during the game and after the game; Jaren Jackson Jr. was ejected, and Taylor Jenkins dropped an expletive-filled post-game rant about the referees.

Memphis Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins will likely get fined for his post-game interview last night, but Jaren Jackson certainly appreciated what his coach said.

"I appreciate that 100%," Jackson said to the media. "To get up there and do that publicly is different than doing it privately. It means a little bit more. I can't thank him enough, and I'll be repaying him by just saying that I got his back as well for anything that's thrown at him or whatever."

Even though Jackson appreciated what Jenkins said to the media, he regrets leaving his team behind during the ejection. The Memphis Grizzlies ultimately lost by 6 points to the Utah Jazz, in a game they very much could have won if Jackson was more available.

"I just had to move on," Jackson said. "That's not what we needed — me getting into a discussion about a play. We need to move on. Just in general."

Last night's game was a battle where the loser would be the worst team in the Western Conference. For morale purposes, it would have been a very nice game for the Grizzlies to win. Unfortunately, life doesn't always work the way you want it to.
