Memphis Grizzlies Reveal Major Injury Update to Starter

The Grizzlies are about to get another important player back.

Bit by bit, the Memphis Grizzlies are starting to become more whole and look like the team they were meant to be. After going 3-0 with Ja Morant's return, they're close to getting another important starter back - Marcus Smart.

Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins revealed to the media that Marcus Smart is actually in the final stages of his return.

"Marcus is at the final stages," Jenkins said on Saturday. "He had one play-group this morning. Really responded well, looked good. Obviously getting his game legs is probably going to be the next thing, but I think everything is feeling good with the foot, so we're hopeful next game that he is available to go."

Smart has yet to play a single game with Ja Morant, so it's going to be interesting to see how the Grizzlies actually acclimate a new roster fit next to Morant. The assumed lineup would be to have Ja Morant at the point guard, Marcus Smart at the shooting guard, and Desmond Bane at the small forward position - or some form of that. It wasn't as hard to integrate Ja Morant into the current lineup given the fact that both Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. played with him already, and Bismack Biyombo plays a limited center role.

Things are starting to get fun for Memphis Grizzlies fans, and it looks like it's only going to be better.
